12 Feb 12: New Enhancements – see bottom of page!
Ever wonder what that recruit you’re pursuing in EA Sports NCAA Football will really be rated? Tired of signing an Athlete for a guard only to find out he’s better as a halfback? Want to assign key attributes to focus your recruiting on scrambling quarterbacks or power halfbacks? Look no further than NCAA Football Player Calculator!
Select any position, including the enigmatic Athlete, to bring up the list of attribute groups associated with that position. Originally each attribute group is yellow, to indicate that no attributes have been entered yet. The first attribute group for each position is always “Stats”, which allow you to enter the 40 Time, Bench, and Squat values for the recruit, though these are optional (more precise version of attributes receiving letter grades). Select any of the other attributes groups to bring up the attributes provided in the recruiting system.
Additionally, if you’re more interested in particular attributes than just a simple Overall calculation, press the “Key Attributes” button. For each position, you can select which attributes you are particularly interested in. One or more attributes for each position can be selected (and are remembered from session to session – don’t need to keep reselecting).
Finally, select Calculate to see the calculated results. Since letter grades reflect a range of values (for example, a “C” grade is somewhere between 72 and 75), PlayerCalculator gives three results, a Min rating assuming the low end of each grade, an Avg rating assuming the middle rating, and a Max rating assuming the high end of each grade. Results are given for the Overall calculation and for the key attribute calculation. NCAA Player Calculator Lite gives the results for the position selected (or highest rated position for Athletes), which the full version gives the rating for all positions, starting with the selected position, with the rest sorted from highest to lowest.
Want to compare more than one recruit? There are two options. The first, through the normal calculator, is to uncheck the “Replace” box. Enter grades for the next recruit, and when you press “Calculate”, the new results for the new recruit are added below the results of the last recruit. Do this for as many recruits as you like, then check “Replace” to return to the one recruit view.
Now NCAA Football Player Calculator Lite can also be downloaded for the PC. Click on the download link below, and unzip the executable. The functionality is the same as the app, but the interface is tailored for the PC.
12 Feb: New Enhancements
Toggle between grouping as Online Dynasty or console
Online Dynasty file improvements:
– Sort results
– Store results
– Can copy/paste results into any file
NOTE: EA’s new Online Dynasty site’s export does not save all necessary information – need to go back to old site and export recruits from there.
Notice how the recruit above is slated as a guard, but actually would perform better a center (especially looking at the attributes particularly important for centers).
If the key attribute calculation is given as 0, the Key Attributes have not been assigned for that position. If the calculation results in 39, then the attributes have not been entered for the recruit yet.
As Athletes tend to show up in every recruiting search, it’s important to use NCAA Player Calculator to figure out what position they are really built for. Below is an example of the highest rated player returned when looking for a quarterback. Notice that he’s really a defensive lineman!
If your Android is capable of accessing EA’s Online Dynasty site, you can download the recruiting class for your current year and evaluate every recruit! Select “Recruiting File” from the menu, choose the recruiting file that you downloaded, the position that should be evaluated, and press “Calculate”. All recruits (around 2700) are evaluated for Overall and Key skills for the position you selected, then sorted from best to worst (top 10 given in Lite version).
